San Antonio de Areco, birthplace of our Folk tradition, is a small town 120 km away from Buenos Aires where you can enjoy life in the countryside and its customs. A few kilometers away from there, passing by an old train station “Vagues” and in the middle of a typical agricultural area we get to “La Guelta de Areco”.
La “Guelta de Areco” belongs to a traditional family from Salta, an argentinian province, and it offers a beautiful and peaceful farm prepared for rural tourism. Tourists can spend their time in a comfortable atmosphere surrounded by the quiet argentinian countryside.

The farm has two comfortable country houses separated by a stream and surrounded by a grove which invites to rest and relax. The old country house surrounded by a hundred old year eucalyptus keeps its traditional creolle country style. It used to be a stud farm, so can still visit its old pens and boxes.There you could enjoy our gauchos breaking horses or ride on horseback.
The main house is placed in a wide park across the stream. You can get there either walking or on horseback along the countryside from where you can enjoy the view of the rugged landscape or the artificial pond inhabited by different birds, animals and otters, characteristic of the place..Near the house there is an old train wagon and a barn which is set to give the atmosphere of an old “pulperia” ( a bar where the gauchos used to drink in the evenings), wher the visitors can feel some of our old country customs.

La Gueta de Areco is served by warm and personalized staff which contribute visitors to enjoy their time and live for a few days a typical gauchos daily life.
